In our previous post, we covered Ronald McDonald (i.e. “Donald”) and Colonel Sanders. This time, we’ll be looking at perhaps two of the most well known mascots in the world: Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse.
Hello Kitty is owned by the company Sanrio, which has a bunch of other cute characters as well, and Mickey? Well, I should hope you know where he comes from.
Let’s start with the most disturbing image first and then work our way down (Sort of NSFW).
And, before you have time to ask any questions, here’s where this image came from. It’s from a comedy sketch titled (in English) “The After School Electromagnetic Wave Club.” Check out the video below for way too much information, if you know what I mean.
See what I mean about starting with the most disturbing image first?
This has to be the coolest New Years card ever. If you’re doing the whole living in Japan thing, you gotta send out New Years cards. You might want to pick something a little more… subtle, though.
Here’s another New Years card. Everyone remember Pokemon? It looks like the years weren’t too good on Pikachu. In the meantime, Mickey was working out, it seems…
It worries me how good these look together… I think that means it’s time to move on to Hello Kitty
I don’t even know what to say about this one. What really tops things off is the eyes on the right. Watch him… er… her… eyes.
Remember this article about Thai Police having to wear Hello Kitty arm bands when they weren’t good? This picture takes that concept a step further. Several, big, steps.
And last but not least, it’s “Long Hello Kitty.” If you’ve ever seen the Internet before, you’ve probably run into long cat at one time or another. I’m surprised nobody came up with this sooner.
